Sept. 15th-Dec. 8th
13 week semester (one for each moon of the year)
The menstrual cycle is the seed and source for all creative life. For thousands of years, we’ve conditioned ourselves to ignore it, abuse it, become ignorant of it. Reclaiming our knowledge of it starts at the beginning, and sets us up for a measure of health into our elderhood that is unprecedented.
Join us for a deep dive into the physiology, care, and understanding of the menstrual cycle.
In this course we will cover:
-menstrual cycle tracking (bbt, cervical position, cervical mucus)
-how to interpret menstrual blood (flow, color, consistency, etc.)
-herbal medicine and physical tools for imbalances (pain, pms, regularity)
-physiology and anatomy of the female body, including the endocrine and reproductive systems
-nuances about the cycle and how to allow it to inform how we schedule, plan, and live our lives.
-basics of harvesting and used common herbs for medicine to support cycle health
We would also discuss how to protect our fertility and engage wisely with sexual activity (as it becomes relevant). A little reading homework, invitations to track your cycle, and guest teachers will be a part of this as well. This class will center holistic practices and herbal remedies without vilifying pharmaceuticals and/or birth control methods. I value offering knowledge about our bodies so we can make informed choices about how we care for ourselves.
